Responsibility

We believe in today’s society, it’s more important than ever before to give back. We sponsor children in Africa, local youth groups and at Christmas we help change people’s lives, through Crisis, the charity that supports the homeless.

We’ve also set up other ventures through the McInnes Foundation, where co-director Sarah McInnes embarks on a programme to support schools and groups, while Iain McInnes has set up We-Tri, as a vehicle to support adults in mental health through sport and with the backing of The Blurt Foundation. Iain has also sat on the board of GM Fundraising in the past, using his cycling knowledge to help co-ordinate, plan and manage several epic cycling adventures, raising over £1m in the process.

We-Tri

This is a new venture to encourage people to have a go at a short triathlon. It’s also easier than many people think and as a multi-discipline sport there’s always something for everyone and the challenge of achieving for oneself.

Think of us as the knowing nod. You’ve seen it – a slight bob of the head, often accompanied by a smile. A little movement that says, ‘I understand’, ‘I’m listening’ and ‘I’m here for you.’ That’s The Blurt Foundation.

more about blurt

They really understand how devastating depression can be. Jobs come to an end, relationships break down and lives can be lost, all through the effect of depression. That’s why the work they do here at Blurt is so important – it not only changes lives, but saves them.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, and they’re working hard to get that message out there. They raise awareness, provide tools and knowledge to help proactive recovery and challenge the stigma that prevents people reaching out for help. They work closely with medical practitioners, employers, schools and companies to help them understand depression, what it means and how they can support those affected by it.
